The 9th International Symposium on Cytochrome P450 Biodiversity and Biotechnology will be held in Nice, France, from the 8th to the 12th of June 2008. The program will start in the late afternoon of Sunday the 8th, through to the afternoon of Thursday the 12th. The Symposium will be held in the Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen, a historical building on the seafront “Promenade des Anglais” in Nice, the heart of the French Riviera. An excursion and dinner are planned for the evening of Wednesday the 11th.
The Symposium follows in the tradition of the previous meetings (Swansea, Awaji Island, Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Strasbourg, Woods Hole…) of this multidisciplinary community that regularly brings together researchers and students from around the world. CYP genes are prominent in every new genome annotation, and unexpected functions are discovered in all fields of biology. New uses for the P450 enzymes that CYP genes encode are actively sought because of the diversity of their catalytic repertoire. New insights in genome evolution are provided by the study of the large CYP gene family. The symposium tries to catch the excitement of these developments in P450 research, and you are cordially invited to participate and contribute your research to the Symposium.
