MCFA-DE local meeting in Potsdam: 10/08/2007

MCFA-DE local meeting in Potsdam

The National Group for Germany of the Marie Curie Fellows Association (www.mcfa.eu) would like to organise a local meeting in the North-East bringing together current and past MC fellows from the "new countries" or even the rest of Germany.

In this website we will provide up-to-date information on the meeting's programme and list of participants. Please bookmark it and visit it regularly to learn the latest changes.

New! Programme, Local Bus Info, List of Registered Participants, Welcome Pack Draft, Possibility for a Participation Fee

The meeting will take place in Potsdam on Friday August 10th, 2007.

The meeting will take place at the Neues Palais campus of Potsdam University and in particular building (Haus) 8, room no. 064 (see map for the location of the building in the campus).

Travel information

Take a train to Park Sanssouci station (Bhf). It is about 5 minutes' walk to the campus and the building of the meeting in particular (see campus map -- the direction of the station is indicated at the bottom-right hand corner of the map -- and local transport map).

If you travel from outside Berlin/Potsdam get a ticket to this station (Park Sanssouci Bhf) to avoid having to buy a local transport ticket: if you come from Potsdam you'll need a Potsdam AB ticket (single or day ticket will do); if you come from Berlin you'll need a Berlin ABC ticket (single or day ticket will do). There is a Regional Express train (RE1) every half an hour from Berlin (Hbf, Zoo etc.) going to Magdeburg or Brandenburg that stops at Park Sanssouci Bhf. Not all trains of this line stop there though, so you better find this out in advance. If they don't, change at Potsdam Hbf (all RE1 trains stop there as well as the S7 line of Berlin's S-Bahn network) and take any regional trains calling at Park Sanssouci Bhf. Buses to this station (in fact continuing to the bus stop just outside the building of the meeting) can be also taken from Potsdam Hbf. Info on local buses can be found here.

A few suggestions for accommodation in case you want/need to stay in Berlin/Potsdam over the weekend.
